In the summer of 2019, preparations were made for the opening of a new restaurant
on the Victory Square in Dejvice - Wabi Sabi. My great friend Lucie Bajgartová, with
whom we first met as colleagues in Follow Bubble, wrote to me if I would like to draw
a few illustrations for the project. I should have googled what Wabi Sabi really means
and when I did, I didn't have to think too long if I was going to do it ... Wabi Sabi is a
Japanese aesthetic concept that focuses on accepting the beauty of things in their
transience and imperfection. Simply put, she is looking for beauty in imperfections.

What a wonderful thought ...

FIRST IDEA

The basis was to transfer my understanding of Wabi Sabi as one comprehensive illustration that encompasses everything. It then served as a motive for the Mural on the wall of the restaurant.
The next step was to prepare illustrations for the web and print, personally, I still do
not have all the materials that have been made so far, but I hope that will change soon.

In general, I don't shoot photos very often, but the easiest thing to do budget-wise was not only to paint the interior but also to take pictures. The style has been clearly defined by Lucie, so, nothing complicated.
